Cleanroom Workwear Rental

A defined garment-handling cycle matters from collection through redelivery.

Cleanroom garment processing requires a service method that fits the garment specification, customer procedures and intended controlled environment. Premark provides cleanroom workwear rental and management and can discuss the garment processing steps included in the required scope. Before launch, the exact process—including cleaning, decontamination, drying, inspection, packaging and any special treatment—should be confirmed against the site’s requirements.

In scope

Process areas to define

  • Collection method and separation of used garments from clean stock.
  • Acceptance, sorting and handling criteria for returned workwear.
  • Specified laundering or decontamination procedure compatible with the garment and agreed use.
  • Drying, inspection, repairs or retirement decisions, according to actual service capability.
  • Packing, storage and transportation controls suitable for the agreed garment specification.
  • Records available for the service, such as batches, delivery notes or processing status, if maintained.

Detail

Why the process must match the application

Not every cleanroom garment has the same processing requirement. Routine garment cleaning, decontamination and sterilisation are different process claims and must not be used interchangeably. The customer should communicate whether the application requires a defined microbial-control strategy, sterile garments, specific packaging or documented validation. Premark should confirm in writing which of those requirements it can meet before quoting.

In scope

Customer responsibilities

  • Provide the applicable garment specification and controlled-area requirements.
  • Identify contamination hazards or special handling instructions relevant to the garments.
  • Confirm whether sterilisation or other validated processing is required.
  • Approve the agreed process, acceptance criteria and documentation requirements.
  • Maintain site procedures for gowning, garment issue, storage and use.

Detail

Process transparency

In proposals and service documents, name only the actual process steps Premark performs. If validation, certification or special facility controls are part of the offer, identify their scope and provide current supporting evidence. If they are not part of the offer, describe the service accurately without implying a regulated guarantee.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is cleanroom laundering the same as sterilisation?
No. Cleaning, decontamination and sterilisation are distinct. A sterile-garment requirement should be explicitly discussed and confirmed with evidence of the applicable process.
Are cleanroom garments processed separately from general linen?
Premark’s current service page describes a separate cleanroom wash, dry and decontamination line. Confirm the current physical and procedural separation arrangements when evaluating a proposal.
Can you process customer-owned garments?
Confirm this during scoping. Compatibility, traceability, garment condition and responsibility for replacement may vary depending on whether garments are rented or customer-owned.
What documents are provided?
The actual records should be listed in the proposal—for example, collection/delivery records, processing reports or garment condition records—only if maintained and available for the programme.
